Grow with Padders Sunflower competition winners

We are delighted to announce the winner and runner up to our ‘Grow with Padders ‘ competition.
Many thanks to everyone that took part, we really enjoyed seeing all your photographs and hearing your stories, risking life and limb trying to measure your plants.

We were amazed to see that at the end of the competition we had a dead heat with two people with sunflowers that measured exactly the same height!
The two winners are:
Lisa Nye from the Footings, Worthing and Julie East from Gloucester Podiatry Service both with a sunflower measuring 3.200m. Both winners will receive 2 free tickets each to a RHS flower shoe of their choice.

The runners up are David Hart from Charles Ager whose sunflower measured 3.120m and Anne from Hoods Shoerack whose sunflower measured 3.100m. The runners up will each receive a garden centre gift voucher to the value of £50.

The next places were:
4th places to Miss M D Hanks with an amazing display of sunflowers on her allotment and Susan Bradbury from Earnshaws, Leeds both measuring 3.048m – again a dead heat!
5th place to Emily Rhodes of Footprints Chiropody Clinic who had one plant with an amazing 19 heads measuring 2.600m.

And the ‘booby prize’ (although I haven’t decided what this is yet – maybe some gardening tips) goes to John of Cut Price, Oadby for the smallest and most unhealthy looking sunflower plant.
