The Sunflower in the picture is currently 1.5 metres tall, the other one slightly less! - The dog pictured is a Labradoodle called Bayley. Lisa Nye from The Footings in Worthing. The fourth photo shows Lisa's sunflower taken on 30 July 09, and it is now 3m tall!
Miss M D Hanks
This excellent photograph was sent in by Miss M D Hanks from Blaylocks of Swindon. This great 'crop' of sunflowers are on her allotment and the tallest one measured 2m on the 24 July 09. The 2nd image taken on 14 August shows the latest update of Miss Hawks' sunflowers. The tallest is 8' 2" and the others are all 8'. 1 September 2009 - the sunflowers are now over 10ft tall with multi flower heads.

As you can see the good irish air and sunshine has been good for the sunflowers. This is the best one now well above the height of the greenhouse and about to flower. It is 3.1 mtrs tall today.

My sunflowers are past the height of my greenhouse, problem is I can't get to measure them - maybe not the best place to grow them! We have now got a measurement with some ladders and someone to hold my legs. It's 8ft 11ins, hope we don't have a lot of wind if it keeps growing. Sorry we have taken it again without wind and its 9ft 4in hope to send more pictures later. Here's our latest picture of our sunflower, it's now a dizzy 10ft! We had to tape garden canes together to get the new measurement.

This is a picture of my sunflower taken on 6/9/09. It currently stands at 8 ft 7". Although this was the tallest of the sunflowers grown from the Padders seeds I have another smaller one which has sprouted 5 heads!! So if there is a competition for that I must be the winner!!!

Photo of my best sunflower. 3 metre 12 cm.(124inches) you can tell it is tall by me next to it, I am 6ft 2.
